Hello elementary families and students! We are down to our final work week left of the 2014-2015 school year. The last day to turn in work is Thursday, June 11. Students will not be able to work on curriculum that they have not finished over the summer. If you need suggestions for supplementary curriculum, please let me know. If your student is struggling to finish by next Thursday, please have them focus on Math and Language Arts. Coding Club families, please note that we are through meeting for the year.
SUMMER ACCESS I am awaiting a response from Accel Ed regarding summer access to iXL and RAZ. I will let you know as soon as I find out. I do know that we will have access to MobyMax over this summer. So, please have your student working in MobyMax each day. This is a great resource and I highly recommend it. Consistent use is the key. JUNE 8-12 June 8-12 Computer and book turn in. June 8 3rd-4th Grade End of the Year PARTY!!! June 9 5th-6th Grade End of the Year PARTY!!! June 11 Last day to turn in work/last day of school! COMPUTER and BOOK TURN IN If you checked out a school computer, you may return it starting next week on Monday, June 8. We realize that your student may be working through Thursday, so just bring it in when they are through, but no later than Friday, June 12. Also, if you checked out any books from the HOA library this year, please begin to return those as well. Invoices for books and computers that are not returned by Friday, June 12, will be sent with your student’s semester 2 report card. END OF THE YEAR PARTIES! We will be having our end of the year parties and field day on your student’s last face-to-face class day of the year, June 8 for 3-4th and June 9 for 5-6th. HOA will be providing pizza! For the 3-4th grade party, I am still looking for a few families to bring juice. For the 5-6th grade party, we are covered, but you can never have too many cookies! 7th GRADE FORECASTING Parents of 6th graders, if you were unable to make it to our parent meeting, please contact Brandi Tarrel, our school counselor, at [email protected] to arrange a time to come in and get information. RAZ App and MobyMax Your student can now do their reading on RAZ Kids through an app! Go to your app store on any mobile device and search for RAZ kids. It’s free and they can log in using their login information. If you are interested, there is a new program on MobyMax that will test your student’s reading level. I have not yet used this program myself, so I’m not sure how long the test is and how accurate it is. If you would like your student to take this test, have them log into their MobyMax account and click on Reading Level Assessment. PARKS AND REC REIMBURSEMENT As you wrap up your parks and rec classes, be sure to print out the reimbursement form from my Weebly website (mrskellar.weebly.com) and submit it with your receipt. Remember that only classes from WINTER/SPRING catalog will be reimbursed this semester, not the SUMMER catalog. Reimbursement checks will be mailed to the address we have on file for your student. If you have moved recently, please contact Kristina in the main office to make sure our information is current. |
