OUTDOOR SCHOOL (for 6th grade parents) Please have your student to HOA by 8:45 on Monday morning, October 30. A previous handout incorrectly stated the drop-off time as 9:45. Our bus will be leaving at 9:15 sharp. We will return on Wednesday, November 1 at 1:00. Have all of your student's belongings in one large garbage bag clearly labeled with their name on the outside. Even though the weather looks like it may still be nice for us, please still pack rubber boots and rain jackets. It will be muddy and wet because of the previous week's weather and other students who have been there. Here are the student's initials that have turned in forms and are ready to go to Outdoor School, FM, MB, NE, AM, and MMM. If you don't see your student's initials and were planning on sending them, please contact me ASAP.
CHECK-IN QUESTION What is your family's favorite thing to do/eat/enjoy together when the weather starts to get wetter and colder?

MOBYMAX CONTEST One more week to get those Math minutes in! The student with the most minutes worked in MATH per grade will receive a prize at the end of quarter 1. Fact Fluency and Numbers don't add to the minutes, it's just for the subject titled MATH. The contest ends Friday, November 3. Also, I just went onto MobyMax this morning and it looks like the website has been updated. This might confuse your students. Once they login, they might need to click a button called Personalized Learning (I did), and then it will go back to the original looking website.
OUTDOOR SCHOOL WEEK SCHEDULE Outdoor School for 6th grade is coming up in a few weeks, October 30-November 1. We will not be having Face-to-Face class on Monday and Tuesday of that week, as well as NO PE on Tuesday October 31 (we will not have access to the gym the whole day). There will be PE and 7th-9th Grade Chess Club on Monday. Our regular schedule will resume on Wednesday November 1 with PE and Elementary Art Club.
NOVEMBER FIELD TRIP Our November field trip to Chief Lelooska in Woodland, Washington (http://lelooska.org/) is on Thursday, November 30 during the AM hours. We should be back around 1:00pm. We have 35 seats reserved, please let me know if your student can make it and if you would like to come as a chaperone. We still have lots of room.
PARENT CONNECT The next Parent Connect meeting is Wednesday, November 1 from 9:00-10:30 here at HOA. Our new Wellness Counselor, Sara Stollberg, will be the special guest speaker. She will tell you a little bit about herself and the services she provides to HOA families. Please join me in welcoming Sara to HOA!
PARENT LOUNGE Are you interested in having a place to hang out at HOA when your students are here onsite? Well, have I got a solution for you! The Nest (where our Parent Connect meetings are), will be open to parents and younger/older homeschooled siblings during hours that students are in activities at HOA. Once activities are over, The Nest will be closed for the day. Please be sure to leave the room as you found it. Let me know if you have any questions.
MRS. KELLAR'S OFFICE HOURS I am here at HOA Monday-Thursday from 8:00-3:00. If you have concerns or questions, please email me and we can set up a time to meet. Pop-ins are generally not encouraged as there is no guarantee that I will be available or at my desk.
