PICK-UP Elementary students at HOA should not be on campus unless they are here for a supervised activity, or are being supervised by a parent/guardian. Please plan on picking up your students promptly at the conclusion of the final activity for the day. If you are unable to be here on time for pick-up, please let us know.
HOA IS A NUT-FREE CAMPUS We have a number of students at HOA that have life threatening peanut/nut allergies. Prevention is the best approach. We ask your cooperation in not sending any class treats or snacks containing peanut/nut products to school with your child. Please let me know if you have any questions about this, thank you so much for your cooperation.
NEW NEWS****************************************************************
MESSY ART Next Tuesday is our last session of Messy Art. Students are allowed to bring a separate item of clothing that can be painted on (T-shirts, shoes, etc), but they will not be allowed to paint on clothing that they are wearing. Please let Angela Lorenzo know if you have any questions at [email protected].
WEDNESDAY WANTS AND NEEDS Messy Art is in need of exterior and/or latex paint for their last class next week. Please send donations to class with your student, or bring to HOA and put it behind Mrs. Kellar's desk.
WATERCOLORS Our next art class, Watercolors, will be on Tuesdays from 10:30-12:00. Class meeting dates will be Nov 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, and 17, all materials will be provided. This is a beginner watercolor class taught by a real watercolor artist, Jullane Rich. She uses a step-by-step method where students learn watercolor technique, that they can later incorporate into their own unique artwork. This class might be challenging for students who aren't able to sit for longer periods of time, or students who prefer a more freestyle-type of art class. Enrollment in watercolors is capped at 20, I will be sending a separate email shortly asking for rsvp's. Please reply to that email if your student is interested.
FALL CONFERENCES If you've been a part of the school district before, you also know that Fall means conferences. I would like to touch base with you all, via email or in-person, sometime in the next two weeks. If your student is in the Homeschool Track (no online classes), I do not need to meet with you. However, if any Homeschool Track parents have a concern that needs to be discussed, please let me know, I am happy to meet! If your student is enrolled in online classes with me through Odysseyware, I will be reaching out via email in the next few days to let you know if we need to schedule an in-person meeting, or if email is sufficient. Please let me know if you have any questions.
OCTOBER 31/HALLOWEEN Elementary students can wear costumes to HOA on Thursday, October 31, as long as they are safe and school appropriate. Please do not bring any fake weapons like bows and arrows, guns, swords, etc, and please refrain from adding any blood and gore to your costume. In addition, we ask that students not wear masks or anything that will interfere with line of sight. Please let me know if you have any questions.
FACEBOOK GROUP If you are on Facebook but not in the group, and would like to be, please reply and let me know and I will send an email invite.
NOVEMBER FIELD TRIP On November 19, grades 3-6 will be travelling to the Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals. I am looking for 10 parent volunteers, please let me know if you can come.
