NEW NEWS***********************************************************
PARENT CONNECT Parent Connect is next week! These monthly meetings are designed to connect parents with one another and provide a safe place to share your online school wins and dilemmas. Our guiding question, “what’s working and/or what is not working?” We keep it real and are here to support the good experiences and the not so good ones. We often have guests and topics that offer parent support and resources. Angela Lorenzo our Parent Coach / Homeschool Consultant will facilitate these meetings. Please join us via Zoom, we have morning and evening sessions for 3rd – 6th grade parents. Please see the links below:

PROJECT SUPPORT There are several projects coming up that I want to make you aware of. There is a Fiction Book Review coming up in Language Arts that is due after Winter Break, January 4. I will attach more information about this report including the grading rubric, to this email. Please help your student choose a book at their reading level that they are interested in. In Science, there will be several "Experiments" coming up that students will not need any equipment for. They will just need to watch the provided video and answer the questions about what they observed. The short video can be viewed as many times as they need.
CITY SCAVENGER HUNT Join K-8 students and families from all across Hillsboro on a scavenger hunt! Are you looking for an activity for your student to stay active and familiarize themselves with their neighborhood? All Hillsboro K-8 students are invited to participate in a fun scavenger hunt hosted by the City of Hillsboro Safe Routes to School program! Students can submit a completed sheet to be entered into a raffle to win a LIGHT UP SCOOTER! (Flyer attached) Entries limited to one per student and will be accepted until January 4, 2021. Winner to be announced in the following week. For more information on this event, please visit: www.hillsboro-oregon.gov/srts
