Next up is our FIELD TRIP TO THE OREGON FOOD BANK! Continue reading below to see details of our most popular field trip of the year. Your student won't want to miss it.
HOA IS A NUT-FREE CAMPUS We have a number of students at HOA that have life threatening peanut/nut allergies. Prevention is the best approach. Therefore, we ask your cooperation in not sending any class treats or snacks containing peanut/nut products to school with your child. Please let me know if you have any questions about this, thank you so much for your cooperation.
NEW NEWS******************************************************************
OREGON FOOD BANK FIELD TRIP We are going to the Beaverton location of the Oregon Food Bank on Tuesday, February 19. Please be at HOA by 8:15, the bus will be leaving at 8:30. We will return to HOA at 11:50. Since we will be gone all morning, please pack a snack for your student to eat before PE (if they are staying). Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered to chaperone! I am no longer in need of additional chaperones. In addition, I have attached a photo release form for the Oregon Food Bank that needs to be filled out for all students going for the first time. Students who have been there before do not need to fill one out. I also have hard copies here at school if you are unable to print at home. Please let me know if you can help. PLEASE RSVP for this field trip, students and adult chaperones. Since the location is so close, you can meet us there, just let me know in advance. We will not have Art Club and cribbage the day of the field trip.
PARENT CONNECT The next Parent Connect meeting is Monday, March 11 from 11:00-12:00. Please note that this is a date change since we normally meet the first Monday of each month. The main topic of this meeting with be state testing. Please contact our Homeschool Consultant, Angela Lorenzo at [email protected] with any questions.
PI DAY CELEBRATION Our secondary Math teacher, Ms. Thompson, is hosting our annual Pi Day Celebration for student in grades 3 and up on Thursday, March 14 from 12:00-1:30. SCIENCE FAIR Thursday, April 18, will be our K-8 Science Fair Night in the gym. I am preparing the Science Fair packet for this year and will send it home by the end of February (I'll also have a PDF version). This is a 100% at home project, but I will have tri-fold boards to give to all students participating. In addition, if students are registered in Science in Odysseyware, their Science coursework will be paused from April 1-18 as they work on their project.
