7th GRADE FORECASTING Parents of current 6th graders! On Tuesday, March 10 at 9:00, Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Tarrel, our school counselor, would like to meet with you to discuss forecasting for middle school for next year. While we would love to see you all back next year at HOA, we know that some of you may move on to other opportunities. They will present to you what our district options are, whether that’s at a brick and mortar school or here at HOA. If you are unable to make it, please let me know and we can arrange another time for you to come in. I will be sending 6th grade parents a separate email letting you know the dates and times of the middle school parent nights around the district if you would like to go to the individual schools as well.
SCHOLASTIC We have a class code for online orders with Scholastic, it is MH739. It’s simple! Go towww.scholastic.com and register today! We earn points for books to build our classroom library!
NO SCHOOL DAYS
March 23-27 Spring Break
April 10 End of Term, Grade Prep
May 25 Memorial Day (no face-to-face class Monday or Tuesday that week)
SCIENCE FAIR PACKETS If you have not received a Science Fair packet, there are still a few left here at the school. ALL elementary students must participate this year and will be assigned a grade, even if they are not currently enrolled in Science through Accelerate Ed. We will provide you with Science Fair display boards. Please be in contact with me if you have questions or think this will be a hardship in any way. The HOA Science Fair is on April 16 from 6:00-7:30 in our gym.
MARCH FIELD TRIP? On March 16-17, we will be having our first in-house field trip of the year! We will be spending time working with clay! Our project, which is a secret for now, will involve teaching students how to work with clay and then having them glaze their own wet clay projects. We will eventually be firing the clay (at a kiln nearby) and the students will be able to take home their own projects! Your student will not want to miss this one!
