If you're planning on staying at HOA next year, now is also a great time to get your Continuation Transfers in to the district, if you have not done so already. Spots are filling up! I have included the link below:

FACEBOOK GROUP This next week for spirit days, we're going to do class scavenger hunts! Each day, I will give you a theme or something to find around your house. Take a picture and either email it to me, or post it to the group. If your student participates 3 out of the 4 days, I will send them a postcard and a coupon in the mail. If they show me that coupon in the Fall, they will get a prize! If you aren't able to take a picture, sending me an email, or a message in Odysseyware works too. The link to our private Facebook group is below.

SPRING READING CHALLENGE We kicked off a Spring Reading Challenge and it's not too late to jump in. I have attached a PDF to this email that you can print to keep track of book titles. The challenge is for students to read 20 books by June 7 and is open to all currently enrolled Kinder-6th grade HOA students. Books can be read silently, they can be audiobooks, and even books read aloud, I'm flexible.

SCIENCE FAIR The 2020 HOA Science Fair has been cancelled. Students who would like to still complete a project will get credit, students who choose not to participate will not be penalized. All Science students, however, will receive credit for having turned in a proposal since that was due March 9, before this all happened. Grades for the proposal (100 if it was turned in, 50 if it was not) will show up as a Special Project in the Science unit that was covered in March, grades for the project, if completed, will show up in the current unit as Special Project. If students do complete a project, please submit photos of the completed work so we can make a slideshow for our first ever virtual science fair! If you have any questions about any of this, please let me know.
SIXTH GRADE FORECASTING If your 6th grade student is going to be going to a different middle school next year, please contact the counseling department at that school to begin the forecasting process for next year. If you do not recall receiving an email about forecasting last week, or have questions, please contact Kristina, [email protected], or Annie Hindman, [email protected].
