MONDAY AGENDA and FRIDAY FEEDBACK - Don't forget to send me your Monday Agenda and Friday Feedback. These count for two and half days of attendance for your child(ren). Friday Feedback for this week should be submitted today (due to no school on Thursday and Friday).
OCTOBER FIELD TRIP - On October 14, we will be going to the Tillamook Forest Center in the big, yellow school bus. Please have students at HOA no later than 8:45am. We will be pulling out of the parking lot at 9:00am. Students will need a sack lunch and should bring a small backpack that they can carry it in. Please have them dress according to the weather, we will not cancel the field trip because of rain. We will be returning to HOA at 2:15 in the afternoon. I only have 3 confirmed parent volunteers and I need 10 because of the required student/adult ratio. If you are able to come, please let me know as soon as possible. Please make sure that you are cleared to volunteer with the Hillsboro School District by filling out the volunteer application online. Students will need to carry their own lunch in a small back pack.

PE CHANGE - The 12:00-1:00 block of PE was changed from PE for grades 3-5 to PE for grades 3-6, Tuesday-Friday. Now, our 6th grade students don't have to choose between Coding Club and PE on Thursdays, they can do both by taking PE afterwards! Please help us spread the word about our homeschool PE options. I know that your students are really enjoying it and if we want Ms. Stubbs back next year to teach on-site PE, we need more students. Here is the link to our schedule that you can send to your friends, http://www.hillonlineacademy.org/Home/Announcement6.aspx.
MUSIC AND BAND SCHEDULE - Mrs. Pratt has a mandatory staff meeting at her building on one Monday afternoon a month that she cannot get out of. On those days, we will not have music and band and parent pick-up will be right after Art at 2:00. Here are the dates that we will not have music and band, October 19, November 23, December 14, January 25, February 22, March 28, April 18, and May 16. If you have any questions, please send them to Mrs. Harrington at [email protected].
OUTDOOR SCHOOL - Our sixth graders are attending Outdoor School on October 26-28. The camp we are going to is Cedar Ridge, which is in Vernonia, and is less than an hour from here off of Hwy 26. You can go to Northwest Regional ESD's website for more specific camp information including curriculum. Here is the website: http://www.nwresd.k12.or.us/instrserv/noss/index.html. I have attached to this email the registration form and clothing list that I passed out at the parent meeting on Tuesday. I also have some extra forms here at the school. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. NWRESD is very accommodating and will work with us on any issues that arise. For example, they allow students with extreme homesickness to just come for the day. It's pretty awesome. If your student will not be attending, please let me know. Waterproof boots and coats are a must. If this is a hardship for you, please let me know. It is not too late to sign up, please let me know ASAP if your student will be attending.
ART SUPPLIES - Mrs. Lamarco is looking for donations of art supplies. If you have any of these things, please send them with your student to school. Newspaper, egg cartons, and mismatched paper plates. The newspaper is to protect tables and the egg cartons and mismatched paper plates will be used as painting palettes. If at all possible, please don't go out and buy new plates, just grab what you have left over from that party a few years back or from camping this summer. They don't have to be fancy. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Lamarco ([email protected]). Thank you to those of you who have already donated!
PICTURE RETAKES - If you missed school pictures the first time around, Lifetouch will be back on October 28 for retakes. I do not know the time yet, but will let you know as soon as I know.
GARDEN CLUB - We will be meeting soon to get our garden project underway. Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of it.
What a short week! Have a great long weekend and head to Facebook and like our page!
