CHECK-INS Just a reminder that I need 2 check-ins from you in one week. Either one face-to-face and one email, or two emails. These count for your student's attendance. Students can also send in their own check-ins through OdysseyWare or Accelerate Ed.

PARENT CONNECT The next Parent Connect meeting is November 2 from 9:30-11:00. If you have a student at HOA, this is for you! If you have any questions about this group, please contact Angela Lorenzo at [email protected].
WHAT IS FACE-TO-FACE CLASS? Face-to-face class is an optional activity for your student to come to HOA with their peers and experience a mini school day. We have recess, work on group projects, and eat lunch together. The main emphasis is generally science, but the best part about this activity is the opportunity for social interaction in a safe classroom setting. We start out with a quiet activity and ease into "class" with a class meeting where we will talk about the day and get to know one another better. The middle chunk of our time is taken up by group projects and recess. We end our time together with lunch and a teacher read-aloud. This year, I will be reading The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I really hope that your student(s) participates in this fun activity, plus you get a little break as well!
FIELD TRIP SAVE THE DATE! Our next field trip is Thursday, November 17. We will be going to Fort Vancouver. I can only take 7 adults, so please let me know ASAP if you want to come. The time commitment will be roughly 10:00am-1:00pm.

It's been great getting back to a "normal" week after outdoor school and last week being so short. As we continue to add fun activities to our schedule here at HOA, please make sure that you are finding a good balance between school and family life. Remember that the face-to-face activities at HOA are optional. I hope you all are having an awesome week!
