PAJAMA DAY AND PAJAMA DRIVE - Students are invited to wear their pajamas to school on Monday and Tuesday to promote our pajama drive! We are teaming up with Scholastic and the Pajama Program to donate as many pairs of new pajamas (any size) to families in need. Your student is not required to dress in pajamas or donate, it is completelty up to you. If they do choose to wear their pajamas, please make sure that they are school (and weather) appropriate. Slippers are okay in the classroom, but tennis shoes are required for recess and PE.

9:00-12:00 Drop-in elementary conferences (details below).
PARENT CONFERENCES - Friday, November 13 we will be having drop-in parent conferences for quarter 1, from 9:00-12:00. If this time doesn't work for you, we can schedule a time to meet during the following week. We are lucky at HOA in that we can meet and talk just about anytime there is a need, we are not bound to just one day! Our PE teacher, Ms. Stubbs, will also be here to answer any questions you might have. If you are not feeling a need to have a conference with me, I would love it if you could send me a note (possibly in your Friday Feedback) letting me know.
BARNES AND NOBLE MINI MAKER FAIRE - If you're looking for something fun to do, Barnes and Noble is hosting a Mini Maker Fair on Nov 6-8, for all ages. Make, meet, and collaborate! Visit bn.com/makerfaire for more information.
HILLSBORO MAIN LIBRARY FIELD TRIP – Save the date! Friday, November 20, we will be meeting at the Hillsboro Main Library for a behind the scenes tour. Please arrive at the library between 9:30-9:45. The field trip will only last about 1 hour, so you will not need to pack a lunch. Pick-up is at 11:00. We will need parent chaperones, so let me know if you can come. Please note that this field trip starts and ends at the library, so we will not be using the big yellow school bus.
MATH MAMMOTH GROUP - Is your student working through MathMammoth this year? Are you interested in having a once monthly support group meeting to go over tips and tricks to teach the curriculum more effectively? If your answer is yes, please reply to this email, or contact our Homeschool Consultant, Angela Lorenzo at [email protected], for more information.
QUARTER 2 MOBYMAX MATH CONTEST - We are having a contest to see who can accumulate the most minutes in MobyMax for quarter 2. Winners by grade level will receive a $5 wooden coin to Let's Play Toy Store and runner's up will receive an Izzy's Pizza gift card. Please note that they must work in MATH, the blue icon, to receive credit.
Have a great rest of your week and head to Facebook (Hillsboro Online Academy Public School) and like our page!
